As a potential entry point for intruders, a door can be vulnerable to break-in attempts therefore it must be made as secure as possible. A home featuring high-quality door hardware, like a security door handle, will offer high protection and peace of mind.

Approved Document Q (ADQ) looks at the level of security applied to new dwellings in England. It is a requirement under Document Q to have a secure door set (cylinder/handle) that meets the TS007 standard.

TS007 is a technical standard aimed at ensuring the security of replacement hardware for dwellings. It was developed by Secured by Design (SBD), the Door Hardware Federation (DHF), and the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF). This standard uses a star rating system to evaluate the security performance of hardware.

Under the TS007 specification, both the lock cylinder and door handle must meet the highest security standards.

To meet the TS007 security standard, a door must achieve 3-stars. This can be achieved by using 2-star rated door furniture, for example, a security door handle or escutcheon with any 1-star cylinder, or a 3-star cylinder alone.

The HOPPE Atlanta Security Handle is designed to resist attack and cylinder manipulation. It has been rigorously tested to meet Secured by Design standards and has achieved a 2-star TS 007 rating holding the CertiSecure accreditation for door hardware.

Introduced in 2005, the Atlanta security handle features a narrow backplate with a cylinder cover and is available in twin handle set combinations. As one of HOPPE’s best-selling door handles, the Atlanta is not only popular for its TS007 security grade, but also because of its durability, sleek design, smooth action, and range of finishes.
